When we or a loved one gets sick, it’s nice to know that we have an award-winning hospital in the community that we can get to fast. And time is of the essence, especially with heart attacks.
This year, Clayton County’s Southern Regional Medical Center was recognized among the top performing hospitals for treating heart attack patients and was one of just 96 hospitals nationwide to receive the American College of Cardiology’s NCDR ACTION Registry Silver Performance Achievement Award.
To receive this award, Southern Regional Medical Center had to perform at the top level for specific performance measures for heart attack care for four consecutive quarters. The hospital was recognized for four exceptional levels of heart attack care – Silver Plus Achievement; Honor Roll – Elite Plus; STEMI Silver Plus Receiving; and Silver Achievement. It also received an award for providing a ‘higher standard of care’ for heart attack patients.
In addition to this achievement, Southern Regional Medical Center earned a place in the American Heart Association roster of hospitals recognized for Mission: Lifeline® achievement, which demonstrates the hospital’s high commitment to meeting and often exceeding guidelines and improving patient outcomes after suffering a heart attack.
